Escape rooms at Closeburn Castle

An escape room is a live puzzle experience where you and your team work together to solve a series of puzzles in order to reach the end of a story within 60 minutes.

We’re a premium product; our games are our own, and in bigger explorable spaces (meaning higher rents and rates reflected in your ticket price). We also provide a dedicated Games Master who is watching your game, and only your game (and never mix you with strangers). It’s the Know Escape difference — one of the reasons why we have thousands of five-star reviews.

Comfortable clothing is recommended.

The games are built in reasonably spacious areas; there may however be less spacious elements to the games. If you would like to come and see the space before booking please let us know and we can arrange a visit beforehand.

Recommended ages vary by game — please check each game page for the age guidance for that room. Under 5’s go free. Any players under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over).

You have 60 minutes to finish the experience.

Games are based around “complete the story” rather than “escape the room”, so the story will simply have a different ending. You are more than welcome to come back and try again at any time.

This varies game to game — check the game info. The Last Testament: 2 to 8 adults / up to 10 children. The Bell Witch: 4 to 6 adults / up to 8 children. Under 5’s go free.

If you are going to be late, call Maria directly first on 07440 157979 so she can help you faster (especially if she is already waiting for you at the castle). You can also reach the castle line on 01387 440884. Where possible we will try and make sure your game is the full 60 minutes, however we may need to shorten your game depending how late you are. If you are more than 15 minutes late we may have to cancel your game. Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Unfortunately not. All sales are final. Please be aware our game is a live experience. Once the booking has been confirmed refunds and cancellations are not accepted. If you can’t make your booking please contact us as soon as possible (within 48 hours at the latest) and we will do our best to reschedule your game.

At a Know Escape venue you won’t find those themes. All Know Escape games are written in-house from original ideas — we don’t borrow popular film and TV franchises. Be sure to check out our original Closeburn rooms instead.
